Garden Affair : Garden Glimpse of Uttarakhand

I recently got an opportunity to visit a sacred place which is situated in a colder region of Uttarkhand . I was moved and exhilarated by the flora and greenery in that region .

I stayed at a holistic place Anand Ganga in that region which was located at the bank of river Bhagirathi or popularly known as River Ganges . Their premises brought positivity and calmness to my soul . The greenery and flora around the premises is a feast to the eyes.

Summer is harsh in our region especially for the garden since it becomes impossible to protect plants from scorching heat waves .The temperature is touching 45degree Celsius . Meanwhile Summer flowering deciduous trees are making it up for the otherwise dearth of colors in summer season .

Garden Affair : Mango Tree

Summer season has begun in our region , amidst the scorching heat of summer it is summer season fruits that come as a relief in this hot summer season . Mangoes are the most expectant fruit in summer . I had a old mango tree in my garden from more than three decades. The unique attribute of tree is that it bears fruit for two seasons.

Mango tree is an easy to grow hardy fruit bearing tree which grows without requiring much care

and can withstand drought like conditions.

This is the first harvest of raw mangoes for this summer season.

Summer has started in our region it would be in short span of time that whole city would be experiencing hot northwestern winds that makes it burdensome to spent time outdoors in garden . There is an array of plants that grow well in indoors and which can bring greenery indoors to beat the summer dullness.

It is interesting that Amateur Gardener who are willing to grow plants in summer can go for some of the hardy houseplants without even giving a second thought that can grow indoors .

Summer has begun

Summer is here , temperature is soaring to 40 c and thereby hot winds have started blowing in our region making it burdensome to protect plants from the heat.

While summer is making its way spring blooms are withering off every passing day

The last of Amaryllis blooms

Zinnias and balsam are now blooming

Adeniums are cheering up with summer arrival

Summer has just begin and some of the perennials are giving summer vibes

Blue plumbago, Plumeria, Pentas, Peacock plant

And summer is not possible without bougainvillea blooms

Everyone should pledge to keep a container filled with water to quench the thirst of these critters

The harsh north west hot winds had led to rise in soaring temperature in our region . While spring blooms had withered off due to untimely rise in temperature summer annuals are already in blooming stage .

Garden Affair : Self seeded spring blooms

Summer has been picking up with day by day increase in soaring temperature and it is right time to bid adieu to spring blooms. I was taken by surprise when I spotted some of the blooms popping up by themselves in the spring garden. This is what excite me about spring when spring flowers grow by themselves in the season .

I was intrigued by the Ice plant that self seeded itself and bloomed in spring

The marigolds looked adorable when they chose to grow among pot of petunias

Larkspur are always fun to spot every spring this time they choose a spot which I planned to raise a marigold bed and look at this they both are creating a dramatic spring scene together

It was after monkey haul in the garden my tomatoes plants grown for the spring were pulled apart and when I was hopeless it was in the backyard garden that I spotted self grown tomatoes plants bearing ripe tomatoes growing under the tree .
