Garden affair : Drought tolerant flowers in my summer Garden

 The summer season in my region is scorching with unbearable  high temperatures for the most part of summer season. It is very assiduous to protect plant from scorching heatwaves , here drought tolerant flowering plants comes to rescue as we can grow them even  in higher  temperature of summer season .

My Garden has been blessed with some perennials that strive through scorching summer and give blooms  even in the absence of proper care and irrigation. 

Here are some of my no care hardy perennials that strive through scorching summer enduring drought conditions and still render blossoms in spite unbearable  summer .

Adenium plants are  drought resistant as they can be grown in extreme summer and their vibrant blooms are enough to put up a show in summer . 

                                                                         

Lantana Blooms bring vibrant colors in summer as they are hardy and drought resistant they are best to grow in summer Garden  . 

                                                                    

Plumeria is the tree that adds charm in summer garden with white and pink flowers wafting their fragrance through the entire summer season. 

                                                                          

             Oleander Plant   is quite heat resistant and drought tolerant for summer .                                                   

Bougainvillea's are the best drought tolerant plants to grow in summer .

Garden Affair : Summer abated by Rain

 The weather system this year has been quite contradicting to the past years .  When we are experiencing   warm spring in the  February  and cooler summer temperatures in April . The May month which is considered to be hot when summer is at its peak but this year the weather system has been out of the blue where it has been cooler  beginning of May month  after concurrent western disturbances that brought Rainfall . 

The drop in temperature had made weather cooler  and subsided heat waves which has become blessing  for the Garden. The summer and spring blooms are making strong presence  after cooler temperature.                                                     

Adeniums had been showcasing a flower show from last two months this year. 

                                                                                                  

  The presence of Summer and spring blooms  at  the same time in May month is what we don't see every year. 

                                                                     

This is the first time I had grown and harvested  Brussels sprouts in my Garden. 

                                                           

I am not sure these are healthy harvest or not anyone who has grown before please share your view?

Garden affair : Adenium season is back

                                                                            

The fluctuating temperature after western disturbances during last week  in the late spring has surprisingly aided in the extension of blooming period  of spring annuals . 

The timing of garden is few and far between when both spring and  summer annuals and perennials  are blooming simultaneously is actually bolt from the blue for this time of year. 

While Adeniums choose early summer or late summer to show up in Garden this fluctuating temperature in Garden has lead to there bloom in the late spring. 

                                                                               

                                                                         

 

   While it is a silver lining for garden to experience spring and summer  blooms at the same time it actually speaks a lot about potential threat relating to climate change  lying in the future .

Monsoon in my Garden

 It has been raining from a week and more , the monsoon has brought big relief from heat waves after harsh summer which we have seen this year. 

The downpour has brought back blooms in the Garden

Water Lily blooms with Rain

                                                      Bougainvillea's are prolifically blooming                                                                                    

                                                                       

                                                         Rain Lilies are most awaited in monsoon       

                                                                              

Adeniums have been blooming from  long now and will bloom till  the end of Autumn season. 

 I spotted Tailor bird in my Balcony  and was able to capture a close up shot of it .Tailor bird is  a common scene during monsoon season in my Garden . They are known for their nest making skill from leaves  .    I have  covered about their nest making skill in my blog earlier post.

 Summers have officially started in my region. The transition from spring to summer is time when the  summer perennials emerge  out of hibernation. Desert Rose or Adenium obesum is one of the most hardy perennial that blooms in summer and blooms remain for most part of the summer season.

Spring is on its way

 It is alarming situation for our country  as mercury has touched almost 85 Fahrenheit in the first half of   the February itself in our region . The valuable concern raised by the Environmentalist regarding Global warming  seems to be foreboding now. 

There is a silver lining to the  start of warm spring which is the early blooming of spring blooms  

Nasturtium flower has been blooming from last week now 

                                                                        

                                                  

Nemesia blooms are coming out early with the onset of spring

                                                     Nemesia blooming prolifically after sudden rise in temperatures

Adenium blooming in February itself can very well explain the Global warming impact 

Plumeria blooms are rising with early rise in temperature                                                              

Bignonia venusta is a spring flowering vine also known as Flame vine when its blooms look like a flame                                                                                                                            

The warmer spring is a looming peril that explore the potential severe repercussions to the near generation.

Summertime Sunshine

 Summer season is ensuing with temperature hovering around 40 degree Celsius . Summer heat is scorching for the Garden which makes it miserable for plants to survive and flourish. 

While it is unbearable hot the hardy Summer blooming perennials are giving colors to the dry hot summer . 

                Summer Perennials blooms  throughout Summer and blooms lasts  on tree till the end of Monsoon season.

Garden Affair : Adenium season is back

 Summer season is approaching which has brought back life in dormant Adenium obesum plants. The blooms on Adenium plant are back after long dormancy.  

Adeniums are drought tolerant hardy plants that can thrive through severe harsh conditions and bring out blooms when temperature soars.

Summer colors

 Summer has finally arrived with temperature  soaring 40 degree Celsius. While we had an unpredictable start to  summer with some downpour after the advent of western disturbance . 

It has helped to give   pleasant start to summer weather and blossoms 

Adeniums are perennial plants that blooms mostly in summer with the appearance which is similar to trunk of an old tree there blooms are magnificent

                                                           

 

Bougainvillea grows well in warm climate and give blooms when the weather is hot

              I am surprised by the performance of Lemonia plant which had been blooming from last six months 

                                                                 

It has always been a pleasure to see plumeria blooming after winter dormancy 

                                                                         

                                               

And summer can't be imagined without the presence of Zinnia in summer garden 

                                                  

It is unusual summer this year as temperature which usually touch 45 degree Celsius by the may has not crossed 40 degree till now which has actually lead to more blooms. 

There is lot more which has been blooming other than aforementioned like Peacock flower, jasmine varieties,  spider lily, kalanchoe and marigold. 

   An  Ostrich spotted in my recent visit to sanctuary
