It was after a week long spell of rain and breezy weather in the first week of January the temperature has dropped to single digit which had led to chilly and foggy weather .
There is dearth of blooms in the garden right now and spring seems far away .
Meanwhile my porch in the balcony is showing some signs of flora
Pansies are coming up for blooms
Marigold blooms
Chrysanthemum are blooming from a month
It is always a pleasure to spot Green Bee eater
The weather is not much better here in the Netherlands and all the plants are now inside to rest until cold winter is over again and I will put them back on the balcony. How nice that you spotted the bee-eater and yes the fog is a mysterious world.
ReplyDeleteHello, :=) What a great sighting of the Green-Bee eater. They are beautiful birds. Your porch flowers are doing well,it's nice to see some coloured plants at this time of the year, when there are so few about.
ReplyDeleteThe pasies are so cute! This is my post for Garden Affair this week. https://livingbetweentworealms.wordpress.com/2022/01/07/how-shall-we-then-live
ReplyDeleteHave a happy week, Emille
We left our BC cabin home in October to start our RV trips to Arizona. My marigolds that I grew from seed in July were in their prime. I was sad to cut them down but knew the freezing temps in November would kill them. I chopped up the plants and used them to mulch my tulip and daffodil bulbs. Maybe some of the seeds will sprout in spring and I'll have a bed of marigolds. Hope so. - Margy
ReplyDeleteWe're in a super cold spell too!
ReplyDeleteYour little bee eater is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAny sighting of a bee-eater makes it a great day!
ReplyDeletePansies are so cute. Looking forward when our weather turns back to Spring and those flowers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms, lovely bird, mysterious fog. We are going below zero tonight, but it would be about -17 C for you. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and especially the bee-eater.
ReplyDeleteHope your weather turns nice in the near future!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, especially the bee eater. The good thing about winter is that it won't last forever :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your link at My Corner of the World this week!
Your flowers are showing spectacular colors. We just don't get enough daylight in winter, so even indoor flowers are challenging. And when we say single digits, we are referring to Fahrenheit: much colder.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful flowers, such a pretty sight to see.
The Bee-eater is a beautiful bird, lovely photos.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend!
The Green bee eater is so long and beautiful. How neat to get to see one!
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos, especially the green bee eater. We are suppose to have sleet later today, changing into snow, then snowing falling until tomorrow evening. We had 3" of snow a week ago, then melted, then 6" of snow, then the rain melted it, and now more snow. Hard to believe we live in the upper south.
ReplyDeleteIt’s super cold here too. Right now it’s only 19 degrees F. I enjoyed your photos, especially the Green Bee eater. Keep warm!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed seeing the bird too
Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!
Pretty chrysanthums!
ReplyDeleteThe Bee-eater is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers as usual, but the image with the bird is quite special!
