Drizzle weather

 The weather right now is foggy, its drizzling . The concurrent rains from last week had lead to drop in temperature with absence of sunlight it has been challenging to peep out in the Garden .

The wait for spring seems longer as weather forecast doesn't  augur to see weather condition improving till next fortnight. Meanwhile the dreariness in garden is broken off with the presence of  blooms of Tagetes lunulata .

The consistent blooms on Coral Jasmine and Bauhinia Purpurea from last month is a candy for my eyes daily

It was pleasure to spot Rufous treepie frolicking around in my garden

                                           I spotted it first perching on my plumeria tree 

                                    It kept on flying and perching from one to another tree 

Finally it came close to pose for a macro shot

 December is the well suitable  season for Chrysanthemum blooms in our region . The chrysanthemum blooms starts unfurling at the  beginning of winter and blooms remain intact  for more then a month .

Cold weather

December is inception of Cold weather in our region . Although this year we are already experiencing biting cold waves in the start of December itself as a consequence  temperature is  dropping up to  single digit at the night time  which happens rarely in the first fortnight    of December .

I had planted this Coral jasmine plant two years back and now it has been flowering prolifically from October .

Winter Chills

 The unforeseen  late start to cold days this season and then persistent fog and smoke for more than a week had halted the outdoor activities, while onset of spring seems far away. The wonderful blooms of chrysanthemums and marigold are adding color to the garden in this pea - souper environent . 

                                                  

                                                                    

In our region its an old saying that we believe when a crow caws in morning at your roof it signifies arrival of guests .

Temperate December

 It was at the end of November month when the unprecedented chilly weather created a role for expectation of cold beginning of  December . It is the fortnight of December still the weather is warm which I guess  is in  consequence of  the climate change. 

Bauhinia Purpurea 

It is the season  for blooming period of  Purple Orchid Tree . They bloom in my region at the end of Autumn and blooms till the beginning of winter. 

                                                                              

                                                                   

Where the orchid like structure of flower is attracting , the mild fragrance of bauhinia is pleasing .

                                                                

Dombeya

The perennial shrub has   ball like blooms which are appealing and there long  blooming period can be enjoyed  for over  a month .

It is the first of blooms of marigold and chrysanthemums which marks the beginning of  cooler season .

We had an unexpected winter season this year which lasted not more than a month and now with sudden spurge in warm temperature early arrival of spring  is confirmed.

Cold month

 The winter season  had been quite unpredictable so far  with late start of winter season to extreme chilly weather persistent for weeks and if weather forecast is to be believed the cold waves will be continuing for more weeks. 

While plants in my garden are  seeing dormancy still  some of the chrysanthemums are still blooming 

                                              

And  I am glad to see Asiatic Lily blooming 

And a Viola finally unfurled its petals. 

                                       Our region sees a surge in visit of migratory birds during winter months.
