May Garden

 This May  we have seen   quite unusual weather pattern owing to western disturbances . The first fortnight of May saw concurrent rains and week of scorching heat waves. 

Summer Garden has been different this May with more blooms into the sight   after  see the back of extreme heat wave conditions. 

                                               Zinnia  is offering  spark of colors in summer Garden 

Adenium blooms   had been great this summer season                            

                 Plumeria plant  wafts fragrance in the peak of summer with its breathtaking flowers                                    

When we talk about Fragrance summer Garden is incomplete without mentioning Jasmine flowers

                                                                   

 

            Gaillardia flower  are such a pleasure to grow in summer garden for their draught tolerant nature                    

                                                             

Pelicans are spotted most part of  the year in our nearby wetlands                                                          

Garden Affair : Summer abated by Rain

 The weather system this year has been quite contradicting to the past years .  When we are experiencing   warm spring in the  February  and cooler summer temperatures in April . The May month which is considered to be hot when summer is at its peak but this year the weather system has been out of the blue where it has been cooler  beginning of May month  after concurrent western disturbances that brought Rainfall . 

The drop in temperature had made weather cooler  and subsided heat waves which has become blessing  for the Garden. The summer and spring blooms are making strong presence  after cooler temperature.                                                     

Adeniums had been showcasing a flower show from last two months this year. 

                                                                                                  

  The presence of Summer and spring blooms  at  the same time in May month is what we don't see every year. 

                                                                     

This is the first time I had grown and harvested  Brussels sprouts in my Garden. 

                                                           

I am not sure these are healthy harvest or not anyone who has grown before please share your view?

Warm December

 The  concern about Global warming seems corroborated as  we are experiencing warm weather in December .  While a cool Autumn in November was a predicament for cold beginning of December the uncertain warmness in  weather in the month of December is alarming. 

December is actually warm when u spot Bougainvilleas and Adeniums blooming at the end of first fortnight of December.

My self seeder French marigolds have started blooming                                                                  

Bauhinia Purpurea is blooming profusely in December 

The silver lining of  Warm weather is that some of the blooms from Autumn are still blooming . 

October to Early March sees bird visitors in my Garden, Plumeria  Tree has become  a hotspot for        Birds in my Garden. Greater Coucal was spotted perching on Plumeria Tree                                             

                 

It flew to grass to feed upon insects and I was fortunate to capture it closer                                 

                                                                                                                              

                                                                                

Garden Affair : Coolest Autumn of the Decade

 This year has been unusual in my region with unprecedented monsoon season consequently bringing drop in temperature in the Autumn season. While the beginning of Autumn season was derailed after extended monsoon season hereafter  we are almost at the mid of Autumn season and temperature is already drooping as early winter which is quite unconventional for this time of year. 

Garden is in the state  between   Summer and Early winter blooms whereas  summer annuals are still  blooming numerously early winter  blooms are already in full bloom

Summer is Here

 The succession of spring weather after a set of western disturbances from last fortnight impeded the arrival of heat wave of summer until now.  The summer season has  officially begun now after rise in temperatures and start of heat waves simultaneously. 

                                               Galphimia is blooming profusely with summer arrival           

Adenium blooms are putting up a show in my Garden

Tinospora cordifolia vine  is bearing fruit for the first time in my Garden,  Tinospora vine is widely used for its  medicinal value 

                                                          

Indian myna was spotted quenching the thirst, it is imperative for everyone to take a step to keep a bowl of water and food outside your home or in your garden to help these critters survive harsh summer .                                                                                                                      

                                                                                                                            

Garden Affair: Adenium blooming season

 Summers have officially started in my region. The transition from spring to summer is time when the  summer perennials emerge  out of hibernation. Desert Rose or Adenium obesum is one of the most hardy perennial that blooms in summer and blooms remain for most part of the summer season.

Cold weather

December is inception of Cold weather in our region . Although this year we are already experiencing biting cold waves in the start of December itself as a consequence  temperature is  dropping up to  single digit at the night time  which happens rarely in the first fortnight    of December .

I had planted this Coral jasmine plant two years back and now it has been flowering prolifically from October .

The temperature is on a dip spree in night , this indication of winter approaching was much awaited  for the garden after a tormented summer which we have seen this year .  

The Autumn garden is a mix bag of blooms and harvest. We always spent more hours  in the Garden in Autumn compared to whole year with respect to preparing garden for spring. 

Night Jasmine or Parizad plant choose the Autumn for flowering , The night Jasmine flower has fragrance that can make whole garden smells like perfume. 

                                                                               

                                                          

                            Bougainvilleas are blooming prolifically before they go dormant in winter. 

                                                                              

       Adeniums which are summer bloomers are unexpectedly   blooming more  in Autumn this year 

                                                                           

                                                                        

                                  It was after almost 5 years there is a bloom on Aloe Vera plant.

 Monsoon season which was extended this year has finally taken a bid adieu and Autumn weather has begun , Autumn brings a cool environment in garden. Blooms and greenery is a startling scene in Garden.
