Spring in the air

 Spring is in full swing, the warm weather prevailing from last week was subsided by the western disturbances right now. The weather has turned pleasant after fresh western disturbances making the   atmosphere of spring lovely.

Swiftering into Summer

 The mercury rise in the first week of April was swerved by the weather disturbance in the second week of April. The unexpected downpour in mid of April brought down temperature which helped spring blooms   last for an extended time period .

                                                  Pansies are blooming profusely in Garden 


                                          Cineraria blooms are extended with fall in temperature              



                                               Amaryllis Lily are back in blooms with summer arrival  


Bougainvilleas are blooming with summer arrival 

Adeniums are back into blooms with arrival of summer 


Meanwhile  during my recent visit to banks of Yamuna in New Delhi Seagulls were spotted

World Sparrow Day

         Today is World Sparrow day , March 20th is observed as World sparrow day .Sparrows   are the most common species of bird found in our region . Common house sparrows have been companion of human for more than thousand years. Sparrows have been part of our civilization for long now.

Sparrows have been in living with human civilization from a long time period now. It  was a decade back when first ever World sparrow day came into existence with a goal of conservation of House sparrows and to promote and spread awareness about the biodiversity.                                            
It has helped over the years to spread awareness about decrease in the count of sparrows . It is good to know that individuals, organization and agencies have been working on this issue and have been working to promote , connect and network in the wake of conservation of sparrows.

Sparrows have been important in our civilization as they help in maintaining  our  ecosystem by assisting in pollination, controlling pests.

Garden Affair : Visiting nursery in Spring

It can be seen that with official beginning of spring season coming close plant nurseries and street plant shops are stocking up the spring annuals for a flower filled spring . I got opportunity to visit a near by plant nursery  recently and I was amazed to see the collection of spring annuals

Summer is Here

Summers in my region are not at all anticipated which is quite opposite to the places  in the world where summers are pleasantly welcomed after prolonged freezing winter period .In my region due to unusual scorching heat waves  that summer weather brings we felt relieved whenever  summer is delayed due to extend in winter period .

                                                         Now after delaying by a fortnight presence of summer can be felt in the garden 
           
                                                 
                                           Plumeria are coming out of hibernation 
                                                     


Miniature roses are giving last of their blooms




Scarlet Milkweed blooms are in full glory

It was exhilarating to see bloom of semi double Hollyhock


Summers can't be imagined without presence of Adeniums and Zinnias 









Although after delaying for long Summer heat can finally be felt  still some of the spring annuals are showing no signs of withering off in upcoming days                         

Dahlias are still coming up with magnificent blooms





Gazanias are going strong with blooms too
