Treasure for A Life Time

Trees are Treasure for a life time.Trees are the largest and longest living things on  the earth...They lasts for decades providing shelter, food, fresh air and water to the generations coming...
T is for Treasure for Abc wednesday

Who in this world does not know the significance of trees. Trees are no less than GOD to us in any of the ways. A small seed becomes a big Tree, gives shed in summers, the leaves of the tree fall down to provide us more sunlight and the atmosphere becomes more warm.in the winters. They provide shelter to the Birds, Animals and Human Beings too.
Flowers on trees are a joy to be seen....not only they are a beauty to my garden.....

Watching the flowers converting into fruits is an experience not descriptive in words .....

and then waiting for the fruits to ripen is the most desperate await...

Where fruits satisfy our hunger... Many trees have medicinal values also. The trees are great donors, they keep giving their services whether in the form of fruits, flowers, medicines, herbs or shelter selflessly and we the gainers gain non ending things from them thanklessly and cut them for our greed of one or the other things.Trees are priceless… They never demand anything from us in return of their services, even then we don’t care.Trees work endlessly without a second’s break. They absorb the most harmful carbon dioxide gas and in return provide us the pure oxygen which is our life which indirectly helps in slowing down the global warming effect.Trees cool hot days and keep warm at nights.. ...

It is the time to save them for our own future otherwise one day will come when it will become very difficult in the treeless polluted disease causing environment detrimentally  .

What can we do:

We can take an initial step to save the trees and make our earth green by Planting a tree and Creating awareness among people about importance of trees and the need for their conservation.                               So its time to Plant a tree in your home or nearby your home as they are Treasure for the generations to come  ...

Summer Splash in my garden

We are at the end of may when the summer heat is at it's zenith ..the Days are long with hot winds (Loo in local language) which blows at the afternoon time having drying effect on the vegetation leading to browning and sometimes dying too..
But still there are some Heat and Drought tolerant annuals and perennials that grows in the summer and brings Summer Splash of Colors to the Garden...

S is for Summer for Abc wednesday
Dahlberg Daisy are native to south Texas and northern mexico..thats why they love hot,dry conditions and don't much enjoy extended high humidity or overly wet soils..

Dahlberg Daisies

I planted it in the spring since then only it has profusely bloomed forming a shrub appearance ...

Portulacas add a color to the dry garden in Summer they come in so many colors adding a splash to the Sunny Summer days ....

The above are the double flowering variety ....I have also planted the single flowering which are in there growing stage ....the best part of portulacas are that they are perennials and pop up each year as soon as    temperature increases and the summer is in....

Ageratums are warm weather plants ...that do well even if watered thrice a week ....These are the first time

bloomers in my garden ..they came as a surprise since I planted them in late winter since then they got stagnated and didn't showed any signs of growing ..I thought they won't survive  but as the weather turned warm the leaves were send and in between there was these clumps of flossy flowers on the long stalk .

Zinnias are the most lovable flowers in the Summer  due to there eye catchy blooms ..they are

drought tolerant ...they enjoy sunny areas and add a color splash to the dry garden of summer

Ruellias are the most adverse drought tolerants in the summer ....I have the pink variety of this plant ...

It grows in adverse conditions of  severe drought and being perennial forms a shruby appearance

It's not watered for the most part of the year still gives petunia alike blooms in the summer till the monsoon ...may be that's why they are  also popular as Desert petunia...

Vincas are the summer gardens favorite due to color it adds in the summer garden ...They like

to send  flowers only in warmer climates while gives profusion blooms in Monsoon season..

Gaillardias are the all year plants in my garden they blooms almost whole of the year .....In

summers also they strive the heat well giving there continuous blooms...and they are good drought tolerant too..

Amarnathus Plant is actually an edible although not consumed in our part of region.. these are the ornamental Amaranthus that gives red Foliage and Flower stalks..

Finally the Most awaited Summer Annual is Sunflower which has just started off  blooming ..

Where there are Annuals there are also Summer blooming Vines that add a splash to the summer

Rangoon Creeper also popular as Madhumalti (in Hindi)

And The Bougainvillea which tends to bloom most of the part of the year...

Although Summer makes it impossible to enjoy the Gardening pleasure  but still there is a reason to step out in Garden to please your eyes with a splash of Summer Flowers

Quench the thrust

Q is for Quench for ABC Wednesday

The Summers are at there peak in my city ..The temperature touched 44 degree celsius last week since our state Rajasthan being a dry state there is lack of adequate water bodies ...We can survive the heat by staying indoors satisfying our thirst with numerable amounts of  fluids easily available in the market...but what about the helpless creatures for instance Birds which can be seen often wandering the streets, parks, terraces, porches questing for water and food for survival..

Every Summer many birds die out of thirst ...We can help them save there life by placing water pots in your

gardens, terraces ,roofs ,porches, compound walls ,outside your building,or wherever you see a bird gathering ...
We can use any kind of containers which ever is available be it mud saucepan shown in the above pic or any other kind....It's a delightful feel when you see birds in your garden or any other place chirping and  watching

them playing with the water and satisfying there thirst... that makes the garden alive ...it's unimaginable   for me to think my garden lacking the presence of beautiful creatures of god birds giving my soul it's warmth and serenity by there endless chirps and playful activities ...So Please take a initiative of helping these  creatures by Quenching there thirst by keeping water containers near by your areas and making people aware of this cause...                                                                                                                             Please Help them they need you!!
