It has become pleasant weather after a spell of monsoon rains . My Garden is back with blooms on perennial and annual plants. Cockscomb or celosia is one of the most unique flowering annual in my garden owing to its unique shape of florets.
Cockscomb growing tips and care
Cockscomb is easy to grow from seeds and its inflorescence lasts for weeks . It is advisable to feed it with fertilizer once in 15 days for better growth. Cockscomb plant loves full sun and it is my experience that the inflorescence shines with bright colors when give sunlight for more than 6 hours.
It is interesting to know that Cockscomb has derived its name from the comb on the head of the rooster as it can be seen in the below picture the resemblance of comb on the head of the rooster with the cockscomb blooms.
