Garden Affair : Heart of Jesus plant

 

Heart of Jesus popularly known as Caladium plant is a beautiful plant that has large multicolored leaves that makes them most sought over houseplants for growing in shade areas. 

Growing and care of Caladium plants 

Caladium plants are easy to grow plants with bulbs and require indirect sunlight and fertile soil for best results. 

                                                                           

   

Why are they known as ' Heart of Jesus ' 

Caladium leaves are mostly bicolor with deep red and pink in middle that resonates with bleeding heart or sacred heart . Caladium plants are also called elephant ears due to their striking resemblance with them .

Garden Affair : Independence Day

 Today is our 80th Independence Day , true independence is freedom to speech which has been a topic of discussion   in our country after younger generation marched a protest against the Government recently . Independence has its own definition for everyone subjectively. 

Monsoon is active in my region the concurrent rains had turned the  garden into green carpet.

Garden Affair : Sunflowers from my Summer Garden this year

 Summer season is always dreadful for the Garden as we have scorching heat and concurrent heat waves make it unbearable to do gardening with ease. Although silver lining to summer weather is we can grow Sunflowers in summer season. 

This summer  my Garden was bestowed with  two varieties of Sunflower that brought radiance in otherwise drab garden .

Sunflower can be grown in full sunny conditions as they adapt hot summer climate very well , they can be easily grown through seeds in well drained fertile soil and can thrive in semi drought         conditions .

Garden affair: Monsoon miniature Flower magic

 Monsoon brings relief in Garden as heatwaves come to an end and weather becomes pleasant in the Garden subsequently. Perennial  plants show up with blooms after downpour. This monsoon season the miniature blooms are the center of Attraction in my Garden.
