Garden Affair : Lotus Temple

In my recent visit to New Delhi I got the opportunity to visit Lotus temple which is renowned in the world for its religious significance and marvelous architecture around the world.

Lotus temple is a temple which is place of worship for Bahai faith in the world. It is interesting to know that there are only seven lotus temples in the world situated in each continent respectively. It has majestic architecture with stunning landscapes spread over an area of 26 acres of land situated  in the southern part of Delhi .

I was stunned by the garden surrounding the abode of Temple , it is so well curated that any passerby   could not blink his eye and left smitten by the sheer brilliance and beauty  of the garden.  It was my fortune that I could make a visit to place which is only one in The India .

Zinnias growing in the lotus temple garden were spell bounding and so varied with respect to shade and varieties.

Summer annuals like  Cosmos , Gaillardias growing in rows were sparkling in the morning  sun .

Lotus temple has derived its name from its shape and design. The temple comprises 27 independent marble petals which are clustered into groups of three to form nine sides. The innermost hall between the petals has a prayer hall that has a capacity for more than 2000 peoples.

  2. We have a bahai temple in Sydney but it's not a lotus. Might go there and take some pictures. That lotus one is very famous because I knew it was Bahai before I read your workds. Amazing structure....
