Frigid weather

It was after a week long spell of rain and breezy weather in the first week of January the temperature  has dropped to single digit which had led to chilly and foggy weather .

There is dearth of blooms in the garden right now and spring seems far away .

Meanwhile my porch in the balcony is showing some signs of flora

Pansies are coming up for blooms

                                                         Marigold blooms

Chrysanthemum  are blooming     from a month

It is always a pleasure to spot Green Bee eater

Meanwhile foggy weather can be seen on nearby Fort.

  1. The weather is not much better here in the Netherlands and all the plants are now inside to rest until cold winter is over again and I will put them back on the balcony. How nice that you spotted the bee-eater and yes the fog is a mysterious world.

  2. Hello, :=) What a great sighting of the Green-Bee eater. They are beautiful birds. Your porch flowers are doing well,it's nice to see some coloured plants at this time of the year, when there are so few about.

  4. We left our BC cabin home in October to start our RV trips to Arizona. My marigolds that I grew from seed in July were in their prime. I was sad to cut them down but knew the freezing temps in November would kill them. I chopped up the plants and used them to mulch my tulip and daffodil bulbs. Maybe some of the seeds will sprout in spring and I'll have a bed of marigolds. Hope so. - Margy

  12. Lovely photos, especially the bee eater. The good thing about winter is that it won't last forever :)

Thanks for sharing your link at My Corner of the World this week!

  13. Your flowers are showing spectacular colors. We just don't get enough daylight in winter, so even indoor flowers are challenging. And when we say single digits, we are referring to Fahrenheit: much colder.

  17. What great photos, especially the green bee eater. We are suppose to have sleet later today, changing into snow, then snowing falling until tomorrow evening. We had 3" of snow a week ago, then melted, then 6" of snow, then the rain melted it, and now more snow. Hard to believe we live in the upper south.
