Garden Affair : Blanket Flower

 Monsoon season in our region marks the beginning of  the festival season where all the major festivals are celebrated for the rest of the year . Garden is revived with greenery and blossoms after the monsoon rains. Flowers like Zinnia, Gomphrena , Sunflowers , Balsam and many others bring exuberant color back in the garden. Gaillardia or Blanket flower is one of the Summer - Monsoon Flower that is adored for its multiple colored blooms.  

                                                                   

Gaillardia is popularly known for its use in making Garlands which is used for worship of Gods. Gaillardias are very hardy plants that can be easily grown through seeds and doesn't need special care or fertilization.

Garden Affair : Gardenia

 Monsoon has been disappointing by far in our region . Although there is a month left for the monsoon season there is a possibility of revival  of the rainy season  in upcoming weeks. It is exciting time for the blooms as humid weather has made favorable conditions for the plants to bear flowers .

                     Gardenia is one of the most fragrant flower I have come across  in the flora world. Although this plant resembles jasmine alike large  blooms  but it belongs to coffee family.

Gardenia is a hardy plant that thrives in semi cool climate and likes to be fertilized once in a month t  hat  helps in the blooming throughout the year .

Monsoon is here

 Monsoon has finally hit the city after a long await which has helped to get relief from humid and hot climate . Monsoon brings transition in the weather which helps the Garden regain its greenery and beauty.

I am glad to spot wave petunias growing in summer 

                                                           

While there are many other blooms of  varieties of Jasmine  , plumeria  blooming from last many days this particular wild flower drew my attention when I was strolling in my garden. I don't know the name of this flower if anyone know please do comment.

Garden Affair : Summer Harvest

 Summer season is slowly transitioning into humid monsoon weather . I have recently harvested some  organic veggies from my Garden. While monsoon has taken slow start this year if weather department is to be believed it will be a good overall  monsoon this year.

Flowering succulents of my Garden

             Monsoon has shown a slow start in my region and if forecast is to be believed it will be only  revived till fortnight of this month. Succulents are one of the most attractive plants in the plant kingdom. While Succulents are known for their attractive plant structure here are some of the succulents that bears stunning blossoms   in my Garden.

 Monsoon has been delayed by a week or more which has lead to sudden rise in the temperature and unbearable heat can be again observed with rise in temperatures. I recently observed that many of my summer flowering shrubs and plants have star shaped blooms .
