Garden Affair : Tinospora Cordifolia

 Tinospora Cordifolia or Giloy plant is a perennial vine native to India known for its high medicinal value . 

                                                                                        

The vine grows as creeper is highly valued for its  medicinal properties which are antispasmodic, analgesic, anti inflammatory, antipyretic for body. 

  The plant as a whole be it stems, leaves ,fruits and even flowers are edible and is widely used in medicinal uses in Ayurveda .                   

The Tinospora vine is easy to grow and requires little maintenance, the heart shaped leaves are attractive . The vine also bear fruits during the spring time which are edible.                             

Tinospora stems are believed to be having anti inflammatory properties had been used successfully in diseases such as  Jaundice and Dengue to reduce fever and pain.                                                              

The Giloy  fruit turns from green to dark pink red color in the spring to summer .

The Tinospora vine is hardy vine and requires little to no maintenance . These plants can be easily propagated through stem cuttings.

Summer is Here

 The succession of spring weather after a set of western disturbances from last fortnight impeded the arrival of heat wave of summer until now.  The summer season has  officially begun now after rise in temperatures and start of heat waves simultaneously.

Tinospora cordifolia vine  is bearing fruit for the first time in my Garden,  Tinospora vine is widely used for its  medicinal value 

                                                          

Indian myna was spotted quenching the thirst, it is imperative for everyone to take a step to keep a bowl of water and food outside your home or in your garden to help these critters survive harsh summer .                                                                                                                      

                                                                                                                            

Garden Affair : Amrit udyan

 I  recently got opportunity to visit the Amrit udyan formerly known as Mughal  garden  is an extensive garden  situated inside the President Estate of India . It is opened for commoner only during spring season. 

                                                       Presidential Estate 

I was mesmerized with the grandeur and sheer beauty of the Amrit udyan. The entrance of Garden with welcome by peacock was a sight of heaven .                                                                                                          

The symmetrical rows of blooms of Tulips and Roses were the center of attraction.                                                              

The Roses varieties here  were exclusive and exquisite 

Amrit udyan offers visit of meticulously designed landscaped gardens which are ornamented with many blooms in spring.                                                                                                                                     

                                                                            

The cactus and succulent corner was an eye candy  that I cant miss to mention 

                                                                              

The vast landscaped gardens of Amrit udyan were adorned with Fountains which were the complete show stealer 

The journey inside the vast gardens of Presidential estate was about to end and this clock made with plants grabbed my attention

Garden Affair: Adenium blooming season

 Summers have officially started in my region. The transition from spring to summer is time when the  summer perennials emerge  out of hibernation. Desert Rose or Adenium obesum is one of the most hardy perennial that blooms in summer and blooms remain for most part of the summer season.
