Garden Affair : Monsoon has arrived

It was one of the harshest  summer this year with consistent heat waves that made it more grueling task to step out in Garden during daytime. The  prime concern in harsh summer is  to nurture plants and protect them from  consistent heat waves .

The await for monsoon is now over as the Monsoon Rains have finally reached our city. The south west monsoon has reached our region. The heavy downpour has brought down the temperature, the best part of monsoon is  it brings an end to Summer heat waves.

The first bloom of Water lily after Monsoon Downpour

The Caladium remains dormant most part of the year and the leaves emerge after the advent of monsoon.

Crape  Jasmine blooms prolifically after Rains

It is the time for link up party Garden Affair where we can share posts related to Gardening, Nature and birds. The link up party will remain open for a week.

Monsoon revival

It has been unusual monsoon season where intensity of downpour has been observed more before the actual monsoon season i.e. pre monsoon an now the unexpected revival of rains   post monsoon is  surprising and alarming about the effect of climate change.

Monsoon arrival in the city

Its raining cats and dogs , the monsoon onset with heavy downpour has created a ruckus in northern part of India. While the condition in my city is stable for now and the concurrent rains has actually worked good for garden.

Thereby  garden is gaining greenery with rains, some of the cotyledons are into blooms early after the heavy downpour of last week.

I am thrilled to see mango blooming after the monsoon rains so  there will be third time harvest this year.

It is enthralling to see blooms of Portulaca , Lemonia back after break in summer season.

Meanwhile a Indian Great Egret was spotted near Lake

After a closer look I noticed a green mark over the eyes which was extended till its beak and after searching about it I was surprised to know that this green  lore is a effect that develops on Great Egret when there breeding starts.

Welcome to Autumn Garden

Autumn season can be felt in our region completely. Although this year was not  that fortunate with respect to Rainfall still Autumn has arrived on time this year.

Morning Glory blooms are  a welcoming change this time of year

(Upper row : Common Morning glory ,Beach Morning glory or Goat Foot's vine

Lower row: Elephant creeper ,Common morning glory)

It was surprising to see Goat Foot  vine or Beach Morning glory blooming which I had grown from cutting this year  in the monsoon season.

Ruellia Blooms are most rewarding ones in our hot climatic region

Plumeria blooms have been present throughout the year

Summer Annuls are at the last stage of blooming
