Last week we had experienced severe record breaking cold which was claimed to be coldest in last forty years with temperature dropping minimum to 34 F'.This week brought relief with rise in minimum that has stimulated some growth into winter Annuals.
Although spring is a month or more away ,some of the annuals are coming out of winter hibernation to bloom in this month.
Some of the petunias are showing there blooms ,Petunias here generally enjoy long blooming period upto early summer days.
Picotee Petunias with Wave pink
Dahlia are making there appearance gradually
Oxalis Stricta
Lathyrus odoratus 'Cupani' with a pansy popping out
Nemesia sunsatia 'Sunset'
Knock out Roses
And Some harvest of fresh organic Tomatoes
If this weather continues for another few days spring will be on time otherwise will delay ,either ways spring will be knocking in a month or so.
Happy Makar Sankranti to my Indian fellow mates.
