Garden Affair : Jatropha

There are few of the evergreen shrubs that adapts well in our environment and blossoms in our climate throughout the year . Jatropha is one of the most hardy shrub that blossoms throughout the year . It is drought resistant shrub that grows wild and its  miniature tubular  blooms are attractive to bees and butterflies.

Blooms and  seeds formation on Jatropha plant

Growing method and care

Jatropha plant is a hardy shrub that doesn't require any special care to grow as it can grow in any soil condition irrespectively. The plant doesn't require much water to grow thereby it needs well drained soil . It can easily be grown through dispersal of seeds and can be easily propagated through stem .

Growing inverted Tomato plant in bottle

It is always a fun experience to grow your own veggies which are organically grown at your space. I have been growing all varieties of Tomatoes from past many years. This year I tried a very unique way of growing Tomatoes and I was fortunate to succeed in my first attempt.

I tried growing inverted Tomato plant in a Recyclable Plastic Water Bottle.

This is a old Plastic bottle whose base has been removed to fill the soil mixture

                                                                         A 1000ml  empty bottle

The base of bottle is removed for filling soil mixture

Tomato seedling inserted from the cap side

And after 2months the first tomatoes appear

Tomatoes ripened and ready to be harvested

Things to remember growing inverted Tomatoes plants in bottles

- Tomato seedling should be gently inserted in bottle without damaging root system of the plant
- Soil mixture should be light and fertilizer rich so that plant gets its strength and food adequately
- Watering should be done moderately when the plant requires it otherwise the plant will rot eventually.

The spring summer transition is always a happy time in the Garden as there is a freshness of leaves and flowers can be felt in the Garden

Feel good

From last fortnight weather has been cooled down with drizzle and heavy spell of rains. Monsoon is being in good state for entire country except for  few parts of the country.Transition in weather always brings vibrant energy in the garden .We await for this season not only for it  brings relief from harsh summer days but to bring more plants into our space and making more space for green in our environment.Monsoon season is considered best for planting trees in our environment since  presence of more trees ensures presence of more oxygen  and since plants emits oxygen after consuming carbon dioxide ,It plays vital part in our existence  on this planet,so everyone should pledge to plant at least one tree in his environment to make your space a better place for living in this monsoon season.Plants and trees are feel good factor for this entire universe.
