Winters are waning every passing year around  the world, the whole phenomena of Global warming is now perceptible . The spring is warmer and summer is becoming harsh every diminishing year. 

                              Summers in our region are harsh with scorching heat waves  that makes it jarring to move out in the daytime . The high outdoor temperatures and consistent heat waves rise up  the temperature  indoors also  . 

Indoor Plants act as a natural coolant to cool down temperature  indoors as they release moisture in to the air through transpiration  that bring down temperature indoors. 

               Here is a look on the Houseplants that can be grown indoors to bring down temperature

Rubber plant    

Rubber plant is a beautiful ornamental plant that purifies air and brings down the temperature of room through transpiration.                    

Snake plant or Sansevieria plants are one of the best plants to grow indoors that release oxygen and has air purifying qualities that helps cool down the room.

Peace Lily is a small shrubby plant that purifies air it can also be placed on those windows to obstruct Sunlight  that enters the room which  makes the room  warmer.

Garden Affair : Plants to control pollution

 Northern region of India especially  National Capital Region New Delhi saw soaring rise in air pollution at the beginning of winter. It was unfortunate that it reached hazardous level at the  last fortnight which caused state officials to limit movement and many prohibitions were levied on state transport including shutting down of primary schools. 

There have been many reasons stated  especially stubble burning in farms being one of them  for rise in pollution . According to international surveys there are many plants that combat air pollutants by removing toxic chemicals and pollutants from air . 

These house plants can certainly help in controlling pollution in our environment : 

  Spider plant

                                                                        

Spider plant can be helpful in controlling air pollution indoors by fighting against carbon monoxide. They can be easily grown from leaf or stem cutting .                                                                               

Rubber plant

                                                                    

The Rubber plants emits oxygen and is one of the best option to control pollution and breathe fresh air indoors.                                                                                                                                              

Snake plant

Oxygen releasing plants

 In this pandemic era one of the most common effect about Covid 19  that came into concern is decreased level of oxygen in the infected person. While there are many reasons for the certain level of oxygen in our body it is interesting to note that there are some plants that release oxygen in daytime.

          Here are some of the easy to grow Indoor Plants that   release oxygen during the day time  and are considered as Air Purifier which are easy to grow plants and requires minimal care throughout the year.

Although these are easy to grow plants it should be noticed that these plants should be kept in a part of room which receives indirect sunlight for a part of day which helps in growth of healthy leaves.

Indoor Plants are becoming popular these days for many reasons one of them being rapid increase in  urbanization .Growing Indoor plants in home is coming out to be  a good option for the Amateur Gardener who doesn't have much space for gardening .Indoor Plants doesn't require much space like big balconies, huge terraces or a big land  to grow plants and just require little space indoors in your home for bringing element of nature in your space.

These below are some of the indoor plants that I find easy to grow indoors with little care and fertilization.

Indoor Plants are easy to grow and will  remain healthy  if they are kept at a place which receive morning sunlight . It should be kept in mind that Indoor plants should be watered with purified and filtered water when possible as they are sensitive with tap water which has effect upon the health of the plant.

It is advisable to keep plants kept indoors once in a week outside in the partial sun for acceleration of growth of leaves.
