Garden Affair : Wishbone blooming season

                                                This year  Monsoon was unpredictable with rains coming to and fro and now when the time for bid adieu to monsoon its revival for a certain period is unanticipated . 

Wishbone flower or popularly known as Torenia is a monsoon season delight with its intrinsic flower blooming in cluster grabbing attention of bees to earthling. 

                                                                             

Why is Torenia called Wishone flower                                                                                              

It cames from the fact the stamens of the flower joins together in a formation that resembles the wishbone of birds.    These are annual plants that grow well in rainy season .                                                                                                                          

                                                     

Growing period and care 

Torenia is grown from seeds which are sown in late summer ,it requires well fertilized soil for good growth which need to be well drained soil . The wishbone plant grows easily without much hassle and can be grown in hanging pots or baskets as they grow in bushy form.

Garden Affair : Torenia Fournieri

 Monsoon season  is at its peak in our city .  While I was riffling into my garden I  was amazed to spot Torenia blooming in a flower bed which was  self grown . Torenias are plants that grow profusely in monsoon in our region . 

A brief intro about Torenias and How to take care 

Torenias are attractive annual flowering plants. They grow in a form of bush and blooms profusely, These cheerful plants can easily be grown through seeds and grows well in hanging baskets and flowering containers and pots. 

They grow best in sunny to semi shade conditions.

Autumn is here

 It is that time of year when morning is becoming cold by every passing day. It would be  soon in a time period of  month or two that winter chill will set in our region.

Jaunty atmosphere in garden

From past few days weather has been breezy and foggy with a spell of rain in day and night.Monsoon in our city particularly has been persistent even with few rains and according to weather department it will be for few days more.It is boon for plants since there is enough humidity in atmosphere favorable for plants growth.

Some of the perennials are leaving there dormancy after summer to bring themself to bloom .

Clitoria or Butterfly pea blooms in profusion 

                                        Tibouchina  flowers are the star attraction these days

Allamanda blooms are huge and lovely 

Fragrant chameli vine aka Royal Jasmine are back in bloom when the weather is pleasent

Torenias are looking lovely in hanging pots

Lantana are happy in small planters 

My pumpkin vine has a first flower hope fruit formation will start soon

Apart from them there are many other blooms of Adenium obesum,Oleander pink and yellow,Roses,cosmos,hibiscus among others which are blooming continously from last month .

Flowers in my balcony

Balcony is that part of the home that gives enlarged open space to the living space.It gives the space to get refresh yourself  spending time with nature ,space available can also be utilized for growing plants and adding beauty to your space.

    I had kept some planters all over the railing and pots to grow flowers in my balcony.
