Garden Affair: Shoe Flower

Summers are at their peak we have seen unusual summer this year due to western disturbance emergence for many  parts of summer . The unpredictable downpour and the concurrence of Cyclone Biporjoy had brought down temperature and consequently plants are blooming.

Hibiscus which is popularly grown around the world is also called  Shoe flower in some parts of the world. It is widely grown perennial with gigantic flower which blooms for a day.

Why is Hibiscus also  called Shoe flower

In countries like Malaysia and Indonesia the flowers are used to produce Black dye which is used to produce Shoe polish. It is basically a tropical plant which is also known as China rose. There is a interesting fact that some parts of Pacific islands women wore these flowers on their heads to state their singleness.
