Summer blooms at 40c

This summer is quite uncertain compared to previous year in fact this year has been by far filled with uncertainty and ambiguity that will be staying for some time more in the latter part of this year.

While we are experiencing Hot summer days  in our region this time with unexpected western disturbances the usual  scorching heat waves are being subsided by the advent of showers periodically in every week.

It has helped a lot for flowers to appear in otherwise colorless summer garden.

Breakout from cold

Last week we had experienced severe record breaking cold which was claimed to be coldest in last forty years with temperature dropping minimum to 34 F'.This week brought relief with rise in minimum that has stimulated some growth into winter  Annuals.
Although spring is a month or more away ,some of the annuals are coming out of winter hibernation to bloom in this month.

Cherry tomatoes from seeds

Last year I bought seeds of tomatoes on which  it was labeled  Wild Texas cherry tomatoes. They were planted 4 months back,to my surprise all seeds germinated .

                                                       Tomatoes ripened now

I planted few seeds in a container in November last year

and covered them with thin layer of  cocopeat ,within two weeks all seeds were germinated and were transplanted after a month from sowing .

After two months first set of flowers appeared that was one thrilling experience

Fruiting started within a month on all plants

Spring is in full swing although daytime is getting hotter with every passing time .My Anemones grown from bulbs have came to bloom after a wait of almost four months.
