Monsoon revival

It has been unusual monsoon season where intensity of downpour has been observed more before the actual monsoon season i.e. pre monsoon an now the unexpected revival of rains   post monsoon is  surprising and alarming about the effect of climate change.

Monsoon arrival in the city

Its raining cats and dogs , the monsoon onset with heavy downpour has created a ruckus in northern part of India. While the condition in my city is stable for now and the concurrent rains has actually worked good for garden.

Thereby  garden is gaining greenery with rains, some of the cotyledons are into blooms early after the heavy downpour of last week.

I am thrilled to see mango blooming after the monsoon rains so  there will be third time harvest this year.

It is enthralling to see blooms of Portulaca , Lemonia back after break in summer season.

Meanwhile a Indian Great Egret was spotted near Lake

After a closer look I noticed a green mark over the eyes which was extended till its beak and after searching about it I was surprised to know that this green  lore is a effect that develops on Great Egret when there breeding starts.

Spectacular Water Hyacinth Blooms

This week started on a thrilling note as it was the first time my Water hyacinth plant bloomed in my garden .I must say it is one of the most rewarding blooms as an aquatic plant beside water lilies.

The unique appearance of these flowers has  only one petal which has feather like mark imprinted  on it among all other petals  as you can see in the picture below

Although this flower does not much resemble to the blooms of Hyacinth grown through bulbs but both have some resemblance in their buds
