Makar sankranti is a festival celebrated on the occassion of Sun's transition into the northern hemisphere. It's believed in the Hindu mythology that Sun's transition leads to end of winter months and beginning of longer days.
Makar Sankranti is celebrated in our region by flying kites which is an act for Good health and prosperity.

It is the time for link up party Garden affair where you can share posts related to Gardening, Nature and birds. The link up party will remain open for a week starting from Saturday.
Thank you friend. May your kite fly high and free in the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteDear Arun, the flying kites look great. I didn't know that there is also a period in India when there are only a few flowers! I'm happy about the sight of the french marigold because here are no flowers either. But as you know we saw wonderful nature in Costa Rica.

Happy WW Arun and a fine week!
We have very little greenery and no flowers. Days have been gray and rainy but no significant snow. Lots of wind, so your kites would be flying well and adding some color to the scene!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kites! Thank you for hosting.
