Garden Affair : Rain brings back the Rain Lilies

Monsoon season has officially begin in our region the heavy downpour had dropped the temperature making weather moderate.

The Garden welcomes monsoon rains with plethora of blossoms of Rain Lilies  . The weather turns pleasant after heavy downpour perfect to revisit Gardening humdrums .

Rain Lilies can be easily grown with bulbs and requires minimalistic care throughout the year.  These hardy bulbs remains dormant in winter and have grassy leaves appearing  throughout the summer.

I had made detailed posts on how to grow Rain lilies from bulbs in my previous post.

It is the time for link up party Garden affair where we can share posts related with Gardening, Nature and birds. The link up party will be open for a week.

Garden Affair : Lily season is back

We had experienced a pre monsoon downpour activities in the last week which had rejuvenated the plants after long scorching summer season. Monsoon is expected to arrive in a week or a fortnite in our region , meanwhile the pre monsoon activities had made weather favorable for lilies to bloom in this pre monsoon season.

Spider lilies which become dormant in the peak of summer are back with pre monsoon activities. Their  spider like appearance and wafting fragrance makes them most sought after lilies .

Rain Lilies are always consistent with rain fall activities as they bloom only after rainfall or heavy downpour. These are best to plant in pre monsoon season for a  floral show after post monsoon.

Crinum lilies  appear in my garden only after the post monsoon season with vibrant colors and fragrance and since post monsoon season is considered spring that comes after summer season presence of lily varieties in the garden in post monsoon season is worth  waiting for in the monsoon.

It is the time for link up party Garden Affair where we can share posts related with Gardening,      Nature and birds. Garden Affair : Rain Lilies make a comeback

Its Monsoon time , the plants have gala time in monsoon . Rain Lilies rejuvenate with first downpour.

The grassy leaves are filled with colorful blooms throughout Monsoon season .

Growing and Care of Rain Lilies

Rain Lilies can be  easily grown through bulbs and they multiple quickly within a short span of time.

Care

Rain Lilies or Zephyr Lily doesn't require much care still  it is imperative to take well drained light soil wen planting bulbs in pot  to ensure easy penetration of roots.
