Garden Affair : Cranberry Hibiscus

 Hibiscus is one of the well known flower in the floral world. Its large circular blooms instantly grabs  attention of everyone whoever passes by the blooms. There has been infinite cultivars of hibiscus grown and developed in the world. Cranberry Hibiscus is one of the distinct variety of Hibiscus that is known for cranberry colored large circular blooms with distinctive maple tree alike leaves .

                                                                


The velvet leaves of cranberry hibiscus turns red from green with transition from hot to cold weather.

                        The blooms are mostly maroon to red in color with some cultivars also pink shaded blooms .

  2. Fortunately, hibiscus also grows in our garden - beautiful! But I didn't know the cranberry hibiscus until now.

  5. I was surprised to see a Hibiscus variety which had flowers almost the size of a dinner plate. In our Florida neighborhood nearly all the hibiscus plants died from some kind of disease or blight, around 2004-2006. However for the past 5 years or so they were blooming all over the neighborhood.
