Garden Affair : Purslane in the balcony

Monsoon has picked up pace in our city , weather has cooled down and plants are having a gala time after long persistent summer this year. This year my balcony space is ornamented with blooms of purslane and portulacas .

  1. I'm glad that the monsoon has cooled it down for you! After a few hot days, it rained a bit here today, but unfortunately far too little. I hope it will rain even more during the night and I wish that tomorrow will be a bit cooler than last time.
Your balcony flowers look very pretty. I had purslane in my front yard last year, but unfortunately those flowers didn't come back this year...
    All the best from Austria,

  5. The purslane reminds me of my grandmother, who carefully maintained two large beds of what she called Portulaca, one on each side of the steps up to her back door. I think maybe they bloomed for much of the late spring and summer-- in any event for quite a long time and they were very colorful.
